2012-13 outlook (season pending): He meshed well with Nicklas Lidstrom, since several

He played several games late within the season with Kyle Quincey, but they weren't that effective. He will finish
doudoune moncler with Niklas Kronwall or Jonathan Ericsson. Regardless, White must come back to his pre-All Star break form, after having a shaky final month or two. He will always man the right point about the first power-play unit.

(Matthew Hinton, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune)For top school football fans and recruiting junkies, it doesn t get as good as what the state of Louisiana has to offer this weekend at the LHSAA-State Farm Prep Classic presented by the NOLA Media Group. You will see a slew of future college stars playing both Friday and Saturday showcasing their abilities for the big stage from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
NOLA.com will likely be on hand for your weekend with in-depth coverage of the game. Included in the coverage, we're going to take a look at some of the best prospects that will take the field expecting leading their respective teams with a title. In this second edition of this two part series, we break up some of the top college defensive prospects available this weekend.
vs
John Curtis-- , LB, 6-1 215, 2014
There may not be a prospect involved in this weekend s championship games that seems better initially than Young. He's got a developed upper-body and it is extremely lean at 215 pounds. If the action starts, he looks a lot more impressive. He or she is a sideline to sideline defender which brings an attitude and toughness to the field. In pass coverage he shows great range and understands the significance of getting depth in their drops. Young is an extremely good tackler and shows good instincts, which in turn lead him to the ball. With John Curtis linebacker Eric Thomas by helping cover their an injury, Young must take most of the snaps Saturday and can likely make his presence known early and sometimes.
John Curtis-- , LB, 6-1 210, 2013
The Patriots defense is nasty and Riley may be the leader in the group. The athletic linebacker has assembled some monster games this coming year. There aren t many linebackers around
canada goose outlet that can run superior to Riley who has 4.4 speed. Although he isn t a huge hitter, she has nice pop which is a solid tackler. John Curtis runs lots of zone coverage and Riley is incredibly effective in the scheme. He could be rangy due to his speed and possesses good lateral quickness to look along with his burst. This makes him effective on every down and distance the industry luxury to the Curtis coaching staff. The best way to effectively chase Riley is to get physical with him and make him play downhill which can be something Evangel doesn t do high of. Expect Riley to get a big night.
John Curtis , CB, 5-9 170, 2013
Inside a John Curtis secondary set with Division I talent; Alexander is the better coverage guy from the group. He could only be 5-foot-9, but he doesn t be put off by bigger receivers and it is very effective, utilizing excellent technique. He's good feet and loose hips allowing him to switch direction fluidly and stay with receivers. Once the ball is in the air, Alexander does a great job tracking the ball and he has the vertical leaping ability required to compete for jump-balls. Don t let his size fool you, either. He could be very effective in run support. He sheds his blockers and shows great technique when tackling. His all-around game is quite solid and he rarely gets trapped of position. Possibly the most impressive a part of his game is his football IQ. He is a true student of the game and spends numerous hours in film study.
Evangel , LB, 6-2 225, 2013, Oregon State commitment
Preston can be a linebacker that thrives playing downhill. He can certainly have his opportunity last week playing against Curtis veer offense. He is a solid tackler and can unleash the important hit when in the opportunity. He has pretty good speed, but isn t necessarily a sideline to sideline to defender. In run support he takes good angles on the ball but for the most part, stays disciplined as part of his gap assignment. There will be times Preston will shoot the gaps, but against Curtis he needs to stay disciplined when you are performing so.
vs
Neville , DB, 6-2 210, 2014
Jones is one of the premier defensive backs in the nation and he is simply junior. Currently, he could be being recruited as both a cornerback and safety which is quite impressive considering his size. He previously a monster game in last year s playoffs as he took Breaux Bridge receiver and current LSU freshman Travin Dural completely out from the game. Jones is a rare type of athlete with 4.4 speed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds. There isn t a legitimate weakness to his game. He or she is very good in run support too. Last week, Neville used his talents on offense at different spots during the entire game and they may do this again now.
Karr , DE, 6-3 270, 2014
The very best defensive lineman to hit the turf a few days ago will be the dominant Gerald Willis. It isn t his speed that produces him effective neither is it his pure athleticism, it can be his nasty demeanor and motor. He plays an actual physical brand of football which is more than a handful for opposing lineman. Physically dominant high school graduation defensive lineman will frequently beat opponents with pure ability, but not use their hands near enough or effectively. This is not the case with Willis. He or she is very effective using his hands and disengaging looking for
canada goose the ball. Actually is well liked has a good 1st step which results in a whole different problem for would be blockers. He could be get into containing Neville s star quarterback .
Karr , CB, 5-9 170, 2013, Texas A&M commitment
Ellis Island is the phrase fans use to emphasise his capability to take receivers out of the game without the need for help from safeties. This tenacious corner might not exactly blow you away along with his speed, but his strategy is top notch for any high school prospect. He plays using a chip on his shoulder and doesn t back down from any battle. The Texas A&M commit is widely regarded as one of the best pure cover corners in your neighborhood. But coverage is just not his only strength. He plays having a level of fearlessness and can come up and lay the wood from his cornerback position. Because of this, he is extremely effective in minimizing the follow the catch and stopping ball-carriers right where they are. Expect Ellis to go up to the occasion because he salivates at the possibility to compete for the big stage.
Karr-- . LB, 6-1 200, 2014
Karr includes a roster plagued by star power and as a result, Alexander can get overlooked sometimes. This weekend could possibly be the opportunity he needs to get the recognition he deserves. You will see many good linebackers on display this weekend as well as the Cougar star can hang using the best of them. He or she is a really good athlete that may play sideline to sideline and contains good natural strength. He or she is bit undersized at this time, but he appears to have the frame effective at adding weight making her an average sized linebacker prospect. Oahu is the other elements of his game that make him valuable, though. He's pretty good technique when tackling and looks fluid and comfy in his coverage drops. By now next year, Alexander may be committed to a major Division I program.
vs
Rummel , DB, 5-11 190, 2014
There may not be an even more valuable defensive player to his team starting this weekend, than Eugene may be to Rummel s success. Barbe has just about the most prolific passing games within the state with two receiving options which are as good of your tandem since you will see. There is certainly good reason to believe that Eugene will probably be up to the process. Look for the Raiders' defensive back to make a statement at the outset of the ballgame by incorporating big hits which can be an impressive portion of his game. Although he is a bit undersized for the safety, Eugene does not have any problem lowering his shoulder to try to stop an athlete or separate a receiver in the ball. If Barbe lays one available for the taking, also, he has the ability to snatch against each other of the air and flip the sport in a hurry. He could be a good all-around football player that must have a big game Saturday from the dynamic Barbe passing attack.

Covington threatened gain twice within the first half. The Lions reached the Skippers 31-yard line and went for this on fourth-and-9 but threw an incomplete pass.

Covington didn t manage a first down until its final possession with below three minutes remaining. The Lions had 12 yards total offense in the second half.

Cuiellette scored on 1-yard quarterback sneak on Mandeville s second drive from the second half to really make the score 21-0. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Skippers capitalized over a muffed punt and Graham kicked a 20-yard field to improve the lead to 24-0. Nate VanHorn s 19-yard run with 5:27 remaining finished the scoring for that Skippers.
It was a pleasant momentum boost heading in to the postseason, and it may make a home playoff game.
We didn t end over a good note last time (against Covington next year) and they beat us, Mandeville Coach Guy LeCompte said. A great note. Most good teams show consistency, along with the last few weeks we've shown the makings of the good team.
